With all the blessings of the season, naturally more and more people start venturing outdoors to their local parks, beaches or hiking trails. While driving along the coast, wild flowers bloom and create a sea of florals. It’s absolutely a sight to see.
If you’re a flower lover, botanical gardens are some of the best places to experience every type of blooming flower imaginable. It’s a lovely experience, especially this time of year! It’s a fabulous way to spend a leisure afternoon strolling through the lush grounds and be mezmorized by blooming cherry blossoms, daffodils, lilacs and, if you’re lucky, maybe a monarch butterfly or two.
With the weather starting to warm up, we’re gradually seeing the beginnings of a beautiful time of year! Yesterday, the sun was shining, birds were chirping, coupled with the warmth of the sun made everything feel like we are coming into a beautiful spring. Later in the day, a slight cloud cover started to form out of nowhere. Despite that, it still felt incredible to be outside in the fresh air by the coast. Without hesitation, I reached for one of my favorite oversized, comfortable cotton sweaters and quickly put it on. Instantly, it felt like a brisk Autumn day again.
Until the sunshine has decided to stay committed to making an appearance, we’re keeping warm, layerable cotton shirts and sweaters at arms length. Ironically, within a few hours, the sun appeared again, gracefully making its way through the ever so thin clouds, showing its warmth and radiant positivity. And just like that, this year’s bathing suit search began!
Luckily, behind every gray cloud is the golden sun just waiting for the right opportunity to shine through. What a blessing.
You know those mornings you wake up, stretch a little and walk over to the window to glance outside. You notice a fine mist in the air, hovering over your view. You admire the sheer beauty of it all. Keeping in mind not to also not be concerned, as by mid afternoon, it almost always burns off.
When a day starts off like that, nature is saying is so much. Subtle. Nuanced.
Have you ever had a feeling about something or someone, and you later find out you were right? Or have you randomly thought of someone and minutes later, your phone rings and it’s them? It’s easy to say that it’s just a coincidence or just ironic. But is it really?
Having a gut feeling about something is often considered as having a sixth sense, which is any supposed sense or means of perception, such as intuition or clairvoyance, other than the five senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell.
When you find more times than not that you’re right about those “hunches” you’ve had, give yourself a pat on the back. We always do!
XO, The Bloom TDL
Sometimes you come across something so obscure, it can make you wonder, “What in the world inspired this?” With all the incredible artists we’ve spoken to at gallery openings, parties and events, their answers were always insightful and brilliant. One that stands out was from a talented designer, years ago, who painted on canvas and clothing. He told us that he just painted what he loved and felt the most connected to, which happened to be nature; the moon, stars and sky, but with a modern twist. His work was incredible, unique and made you think outside the box! It was so creative, we even contemplated purchasing a piece of his work.
Would you consider a piece of art like any of these?
We did once, and we put it between two pieces of paper, then placed it in between the pages of a book. Once it dried, we had it laminated and used it as a bookmark!
Fun fact #1. Four-leaf clovers, aside from being considered good luck, are said to be symbols of faith, love, hope and good fortune!
Fun fact #2. Three-leaf clovers are considered a religious symbol of holiness, the holy trinity.
We heard that if you do find a four-leaf clover, look around, they’ll be more in the same area, as they grow together.

There is something SO special about the century-old tradition of handmade items. They are sustainable, made with high quality materials, can be customized, they’re unique, they tell a story and the movement keeps traditional skills and crafts alive.
We are so in LOVE with the look and feel of handmade tile, like these featured here. A family member of ours recently purchased some exquisite handmade tile for his new home. He fell in love with it after finding it at a store that had walls of it to display their accessories against. When you see what goes into making each piece by hand, the price starts to make sense. Making sure each one matches the other, or is as similar as possible, is a meticulous process.
We have so much appreciation for the artisans who bring us the most incredible handmade items and hope they continue to keep this art alive!
We have been patiently awaiting this day to arrive. Yes, it’s officially spring! Cue the chirping birds in the distance, the sun bursting through the clouds and the smell of jasmine and orange blossoms in the air.
We are so ready for picnics at the park, seasonal fruit, warmer sunny days and cotton sundresses with one of our lightweight denim jackets over our shoulders! There’s also something about walking barefoot on cool, damp grass that brings back such nostalgia. It’s good for grounding you and your pets too!
