Over the course of his career, Dale Chihuly has absolutely revolutionized the art of glass blowing, moving it into the realm of large-scale sculpture, and establishing the use of glass, which is so fragile, as a vehicle for installations and environmental art. As most of us know, one of his most recognizable pieces is his installation along the ceiling of the lobby at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, if you haven’t seen it yet, click here:

I visited a Chihuly exhibit at the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, PA about five years ago, where the glass sculptures were brilliantly intertwined with the living foliage of the greenhouse. It was breathtaking- and I have been a fan ever since!

The work of Dale Chihuly is spectacular. He’s featured at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix Arizona which presents form inspiring photography. They are just setting new works up for the winter and Holiday Season.
