{Breathe in Zen}

breathe in, breathe out, repeat…

Ever notice when you’re in a bad mood, feeling resentful, irritated, feeling scattered and stressed, that you feel like you have less to offer yourself and others? When this happens, our breathing becomes shallow, blood races through your veins at abnormal speeds and your body goes in to fight or flight mode.  One way to remedy this is to slow down and take a deep breath in, exhale your breath, and repeat.  When we find we can be more gentle with ourselves, take time to slow down, we remember what’s important to us!  Take a walk out in nature, feel the grass under your bare feet and breathe in life.  Once you’ve found your breath, look around and see how miraculous life is and how lucky we are to be living in a world with so much possibility.  Fall in love with your life and you’ll be happier, healthier and more at peace.

What comes to mind when you think of the holidays?  Family?  Presents?  Long lines at your local mall? Decadent sweets…yes, all of that is true and more!  This is why our next holiday shopping tip (#3)  has to be these three simple words: REST. REJUVINATE. RECHARGE.  How many of you have come down with the flu this time of year when so much is expected of you, or exhausted all of your energy reserves to get that last-minute gift,  sometimes the pressure of the holidays is just too, too much!  So, this is why we’re turning over a new leaf and going to try something new this year!  You can join us in liberating yourself from all the holiday hoopla and succumb to what the holidays are really all about: PEACE. LOVE. GOOD CHEER.  We’re going to challenge ourselves to step outside of our comfort zone and make some precious time just for ourselves, curled up in bed with the highest thread count sheets we can find, a hot cup of fragrant herbal tea and make this holiday season one that includes giving back to ourselves. If not you, then who? This is UK designer Christopher Jenner‘s vision of how Eurostar should look and he feels the transport system is in desperate need of a makeover. Will this ever happen? Not likely, but it is a lovely vision as it is appointed in hardwood, brushed brass, yellow tufted and winged seats, with wide windows to watch the vistas from London to Paris. As the designer states  “Traveling the line between the capital of cool and the capital of fashion, we wonder how this train is such a soulless design experience.This commission is a vision of a future we can all enjoy. With transport set to play an ever more pivotal role in the way we seek to improve our relationship with the planet, surely it should be tasty too?”   I personally like that rather than choosing a totally futuristic look that he instead chose one with a hint…
