Feeling nostalgic is a holiday tradition around here. One of the many memories that come to mind is mini appetizers or canapes. These delicate little bites were held together with wooden toothpicks, some with a colorful decorative plastic fringed tops, carefully placed to secure a sliced meat, shaved vegetable and a cutout shaped piece of soft white bread. The varieties were numerous, colorful and tantalazing. They weren’t a sandwich, nor a snack and no where near a meal, but they were abundant and bewildering! With so many to choose from, it felt like being a golden ticket winner in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
Thankfully, pictures are worth a thousand words and can capture a glimpse into those fond memories. We hope they rekindle a fond memory or two for you.
Happy holidays!
