polka.

Polka dots are one of 2024’s biggest prints, having been given a sophisticated and elegant update for the season ahead! What polka dot trends are poppin’ this year? Expect to see neutral-colored dots on a darker background (specifically, white polka dots) and classic cuts with polka dot designs. Think polka dot blouses, dresses, or pants in classic silhouettes. We’re featuring some our favorites here!

Fun fact: The eye-popping pattern gets its name from the polka music craze that engulfed Europe in the mid-1800s.

springtime.

We have been patiently awaiting this day to arrive. Yes, it’s officially spring! Cue the chirping birds in the distance, the sun bursting through the clouds and the smell of jasmine and orange blossoms in the air.

We are so ready for picnics at the park, seasonal fruit, warmer sunny days and cotton sundresses with one of our lightweight denim jackets over our shoulders! There’s also something about walking barefoot on cool, damp grass that brings back such nostalgia. It’s good for grounding you and your pets too!

What’s your favorite season?

Amalfi.

Azure blue waters that lap sandy beaches and cradle limestone cliffs, a rainbow of colorful homes that drape the hillsides and seemingly endless heat and sunshine; it would be difficult to not feel seduced by the effortless beauty of the Amalfi Coast, a stretch of paradise along the Tyrrhenian Sea. Artists, designers and craftspeople have long captured the essence of Amalfi in myriad ways; through perfume to paper, wood inlaying to ceramics, and creating trendsetting, yet timeless, fashions.

Here’s a few of the stand outs:

Via Lorenzo D’Amalfi: The main shopping strip in Amalfi town, home to an eclectic array of stores. At the city’s heart, this always-crowded strip is a great place to see and be seen! You can fuel your shopping escapades with a frothy cappuccino from one of its numerous alfresco cafes.

Amalfi Coast Markets: Produce markets are open most weekday mornings, one in Via San Renato in Sorrento and another in Piazza Duomo in Ravello. On other days, they’re in Piazza Mercato in Maiori. From around 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, these vibrant events trade regional produce and a small selection of everyday wares, from jewlery to clothing too! Mingle with local shoppers as they pick freshly picked vegetables, bargaining for high-quality goods directly from the grower.

Via dei Mercanti: (Merchant’s Way) is a long and narrow central Salerno street with a large selection of chic boutique stores. The historic promenade was the city’s commercial epicenter during the medieval era and remains a bustling retail destination today.

Piazza dei Mulini: It’s a fabulous Positano street home to numerous high-end fashion stores. You’ll find a wide array of luxury wares, from design apparel to luxe accessories and top-quality leather goods. Start up the top end and take a gentle downhill stroll to admire epic coastal views as you pop into the shops.

Beaches: It goes without saying that this coastal town is so lovely, one would be happy to walk along the beach and set up for a day in the sun to work on their tan. From sand to pebble beaches, here are fourteen to choose from, so there’s really something for everyone.

If and when you make Amalfi a travel destination, we hope it’s the trip of a lifetime!

💗.

Well it’s February already! How is that possible? Weren’t we just shopping for holiday presents, decorating the house and ringing in the holiday cheer?!

What makes February special for you? Do you have any traditions you enjoy keeping? We love cozy, soft, red and white sweaters, anything with the word LOVE on it, Valentine’s Day decorations and finding the newest themed hot drink at our favorite local coffee spot! Usually it’s a sweet pink drink with some sort of red, pink and white sprinkles, so fitting being so close to Valentine’s Day. Why wait until February 14th to start feeling the love in the air?

Bring on the love!

boyfriend.

Have you ever borrowed your boyfriend’s jeans? We have and it was literally love at first fit. Slipping the roomy denim over your hips makes you feel like everything is right in the world. We stepped into a well-worn, light-washed, distressed button-up, pair of Levis 501’s. The soft cotton was such a welcome surprise, as we were used to tight-fitting, dark denim with maybe a little give, these were light years apart. We paired them with black lace-up leather boots, a black and white striped cotton sweater and a crossbody bag. Not to toot our own horn, but the look worked!

Zara, Levis and True Religion, just to name a few, all carry the oversized, roomy boyfriend cut for women. So, whether you have a boyfriend or not, you can still wear your boyfriend jeans!

focaccia art.

focaccia/fə-kä′chə, fō-/

Just when you think you’ve really seen it all, now there’s this! These lovely handmade, artistic, flatbreads are edible works of art that are almost too pretty to eat. We said almost! They are literally artisanal bread art! Who has the olive oil and balsamic vinegar? Let’s dig in.

Starting with a lovely focaccia dough, these artisan bread makers took bread making to another level. By adding tomatoes, olives, peppers, onions and herbs, they create “paintings” that come to life! They are a pure delight for the eyes and taste buds. How lovely it would be to serve this on a special occasion!

We truly hope you enjoy your weekend and find something beautiful to savor!
