breathe.

Have you ever attended a yoga class? One of the first things the instructor asks the participants to do is to find your breath, get comfortable in the space you’ve chosen and close your eyes. It’s one of our favorite ways to get begin a workout routine. Our breath and the pace of it regulates a number of functions in our bodies, so it’s important for us to remember to get in those nice deep breaths during the day.

Harvard Medical School suggests, “Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down. First, take a normal breath. Then try a deep breath: Breathe in slowly through your nose, allowing your chest and lower belly to rise as you fill your lungs. Let your abdomen expand fully. Now breathe out slowly through your mouth (or your nose, if that feels more natural).” Repeat as needed.

Finding the time to do this a few times a day can make a world of difference, atleast it has for us.
