A very wise man once said, “Laugh three times a day, at minimum.” Ever since then, it’s been a daily habit for us, like brushing our teeth. Another very wise man said, “Smile at people and say hello. You never know what someone is going through.” Like laughing atleast three times a day, we make this another habit and the bonus is, 9 times out of 10 they smile back!

Enjoy your beautiful Saturday and we hope you find laughter and smiles along your way.

breathe.

Have you ever attended a yoga class? One of the first things the instructor asks the participants to do is to find your breath, get comfortable in the space you’ve chosen and close your eyes. It’s one of our favorite ways to get begin a workout routine. Our breath and the pace of it regulates a number of functions in our bodies, so it’s important for us to remember to get in those nice deep breaths during the day.

Harvard Medical School suggests, “Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down. First, take a normal breath. Then try a deep breath: Breathe in slowly through your nose, allowing your chest and lower belly to rise as you fill your lungs. Let your abdomen expand fully. Now breathe out slowly through your mouth (or your nose, if that feels more natural).” Repeat as needed.

Finding the time to do this a few times a day can make a world of difference, atleast it has for us.

radiate.

Choices. So many choices. Every day, we make a countless number of decisions, some being split second decisions most of us wouldn’t even remember. From the moment we wake up to the time we call it a day, our choices, based on a number of things such as research, intuition, facts and perceptions, all shape our experiences.

Bright and early, we choose to start our day radiating love inward, towards ourselves, filling ourselves up with an unconditional, gentle, caring love. Then we send equal amounts of that love to those who need it the most. Thirdly, to the planet. It’s a great way to launch the day, plus it feels great!

As they say, “knowledge is power,” and “when you know better, you do better.” With that being said, what we’ve found is that there is something more to it. It’s taking time to see our part in the equation. When you do your best, that’s your best. That’s all you can do. That’s all anyone can ask of you. That’s all you can ask of yourself. When you know you’ve done everything in your power to do your best, then you can rest easy knowing you accomplished that goal. It’s stepping out of the way and letting there be room for healing and transformation. There’s no doubt this is a leap of faith, but maybe that’s what we all need the most.

LOVE.

KINDNESS.

FAITH.

rest.

It’s that time of year again when we all need more shut eye. Researchers from Charité Medical University of Berlin found that we need more sleep, and more deep sleep in the winter, over other times of the year. Part of the reason is because of less sunlight during the day and much colder tempatures at night.

Going to bed and waking up the same time every day is one way to achieve better and deeper sleep. Warm, comforting herbal teas are useful to help relax and unwind after your day is through. We love the chamomile citrus tea by Mighty Leaf. It has a delicate hint of orange blossom that makes it so fragrant. It’s truly delightful. Celestial Seasonings also has one called Sleepytime Tea, it’s also a great choice with its comforting aroma and perfectly balanced flavor from a blend of soothing herbs, including delicate chamomile, cool spearmint and fresh lemongrass.

Night night and sleep tight!

huddle.

We need each other, deeper than anyone ever dares to admit even to themselves. I think it is a genetic imperative that we huddle together and hold on to each other. There is no question in my mind that there is nothing else in life, really, than friendship.
